Teamwork & Social Skills
Getting along with other people — sharing, taking turns, joining a group, staying regulated in social situations, and treating others with respect — is one of the most complex sets of skills a child will ever develop. And unlike academic skills, social skills are tested in real time, in unpredictable situations, with other people whose needs and reactions cannot be controlled.
In this category, you'll learn how to: teach and reinforce prosocial behavior before it is tested, model what good friendship and teamwork look like, and praise the specific social behaviors you want to see more of. A child who practices these skills at home carries them into every classroom, playground, and relationship they will ever enter.
